Love always offers second chances.
Each year
New blooms reflect love and second chances
I love seeing the wonder of God’s creation with various blooms. Some, like the crocus last only a short time. There are wildflower beauties that bless us throughout the summer. It doesn’t matter how harsh the winds and frost of winter. When warmth happens, blooms appear. 🌸
Love offers second chances in crazy ways
God’s second chances are offered to us in crazy ways too. As you look at a situation in life, you may see it just as a coincidence. Are you willing to view the journey using God’s lens? Perhaps your eyes will notice more second chances on the path.
I was very disappointed when I could not use my daughter’s IPAD. I wanted something smaller, more convenient for my writing.
Second chance in a crazy way:
It just happened that Mother’s Day was coming up. An IPAD was a bit more expensive than a bouquet of flowers and did I REALLY need one? 🤔
This is a sweet little item, but with this second chance came challenges and choices. Technical frustration and the inability to have words to even ask what to do when I simply wanted to create. With a second chance comes the choice of deciding how and if you will walk forward on the path.
God loves giving second chances for life
How does this apply to you, your life and your creative journey? So glad you have stayed this far to ask.
Just because you received a second chance does not necessarily mean you easily continue on that path. Choices are part of God’s gift labeled “free-will”. As you use the choices before you, what will be the outcome?
John Newton is the author of the words to the vintage hymn Amazing Grace. His life story reveals many “free-will” choices where he did not always turn his face to God and that amazing grace.
God has plans for John Newton
In 1748, on one of Newman’s ventures working on a slave trading ship, a huge storm rose almost claiming Newton’s life. Winds and waves beat against the ship laden with slaves.
Newton recalled his moments of mockery toward God fearing he had no claims to prayer and yet … Newton also remembered the God of Love shared with him by his mother. John’s present helplessness and almost certain death pushed him to call out to the only One Who had the power to save him. God answered that prayer.
I previously mentioned, second chances don’t automatically result in a lifestyle change. Free-will is a big factor. In fact as you read more of Newton’s story, you will see a life with highs and lows resembling a roller coaster ride. John made choices which included continuing in the slave trade and he had no qualms about it. Eventually, those choices took Newton to a near death experience again. This resulted from a terrible fever. Upon his recovery, another life transformation took place. . After this episode, Newton never again went back on his faith. He developed a consistent habit of prayer, and his watchword became humility…
There is much more to the John Newton’s story. I would encourage you to read it.

Love offers second chances reflected in Amazing Grace
In 1772, John Newton wrote the words to Amazing Grace. These words describe the journey where one can receive words of God’s Love, and even have transformative experiences and yet, the choice over and over to receive the grace is not demanded from God. This amazing grace is a gentle hand offering Love.
Ponder upon the words of this verse and John Newton’s life. Even though God gave Newton many “second chances”, this song is a reflection of deep love. Feel free to share the response you receive as you sit with God.
Love always offers second chances. The blooms come out each year. The possibility of a new tool to help in sharing your message. God’s love in offering a second chance to REALLY LIVE.
Receive, Reflect and Respond as you Continue to Create.
It’s a comfort to know God’s second chances are there, because often I’ve found that I personally don’t even realize that I missed his first chance, or took his first chance and then slipped out of it over time.
There’s great comfort in knowing that even if things look bleak in the moment (specifically as a result of one’s own choices, rather than circumstance), it doesn’t mean you are now abandoned. Especially if you earnest seek him.
Thank you so much for engaging. Such a great comfort in God’s ever present love and care. 🙂
