What happens when I show up to share a post?
“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” Maya Angelou
When I truly show up, I want to worship.!
With the loss of electricity in July and the total loss of a computer during the month of August, writing felt as though I was on a Ferris Wheel. High in the sky, large circular movements, inside a cage twirling in the air. I did not feel as though I was in control of anything. 🙁
It looks nice and bright and if I were a kid with great vertigo, this carnival ride might be wonderful. Alas, up and down, ever changing challenges are not as fun as they once were.
The aging process is opening a door I once saw from a distance in older relatives. Closer relatives and friends are now battling the horrid ” C”. Political debates with their ugly non supportive verbal assaults are yelling throughout all the social media. Time flies by quickly and the joy to be creative never seems to be long enough to complete anything. What do I express?
A dark cloud including all these elements hover over me trying to determine
me and my story.
As I open my heart and say “Yes” to God, do I still have a portion of my own agenda? My eyes want to look to my Leader with the desire to worship Him alone. Am I satisfied in His agenda?
An earlier post I was working on was intense and passionate. God showed me it was a good MY WRITE, but it was not MY STORY.
What difference does that make if I submit it to this blog? Obedience.
Jesus came to earth to live as a man. He was also the Son of God. In reality what limits did He have? He had the love and the power of the Holy Spirit moving in Him all the time.
What choice of obedience did Jesus make as He lived with us?
The choice was to respond in one way. Out of His love for us, and as an example, He said:
What the Father does, the Son does.
19-20 So Jesus explained himself at length. “I’m telling you this straight. The Son can’t independently do a thing, only what he sees the Father doing. What the Father does, the Son does. The Father loves the Son and includes him in everything he is doing. Msg John 5
As a writer, am I willing to do the same thing?
People may find it scary to give themselves permission by pressing the submit button. (comparison, perfectionism, what will people say, you know the lies. ) I know all of these lines too well.
Can the opposite be true as well? What if I work really hard on a post, but I don’t get permission to hit the submit button? It is not a bad write. It is just not MY STORY.
In this time of heavy hitting posts from all over, I want to respond in love. I want my posts to reflect the Fruits of the Spirit as they are being worked out as reality in My Story.
This blog is to share with you how I am walking through doors for Worshiping, Creating, and opening up to my Dreams of Life’s Adventures. Many of you will be able to identify in some way with this story because it may be in some aspect a reflection of your story, your dreams, your life.
The forms will vary because I am creative.
- Prose
- Story
- Photography
- Meditation
I feel as though I am reintroducing myself. Maybe to some of you for the first time. Maybe even to my self again.
As I leave, I place this before you to consider. What does God want you to write? Ultimately whatever you post, will it be a reflection of His Heart in you, to you and for you?
Be blessed in His love deep love for you to find, live and write YOUR STORY.
Feel free to share your stories and dreams with me. We are all on this journey together.
Longing to share a cup of java and a long chat with you! See you after Nov 4- Norma
