David from the Old Testament, would get “stuck in the mud.” He cried out to God,” I’m a mess… make something of me.”( Psalm 40:17a MSG). David’s relationship with God was one of honesty and vulnerability. What is your first response when life takes a bizarre turn? How can vulnerable honesty help when you feel a mess? God will open pathways to deeper freedom in your life and creativity.

We are encouraged throughout the scriptures to be strong and brave. “Do Not Fear” If we are honest that is not always easy. God’s love does not leave if we feel afraid. In fact, that is when we can call upon Him and He promises to be with us in the shadows and the green valley. God is our strength.
Comments closedI walk through the dark valley of shadows during the change where we are all coming back together again. I admit, I have some fear, but You are the Good Shepherd that will protect me. You have a creative plan for me. In this next new normal, help me to be free to worship as I was created.
1 CommentEngage in His Presence. Close your eyes and enter into the walk with Jesus. He is at the First Station of the Cross. Do you see the blood dripping from long spiky thorns poking into His gentle head? Then slowly, Jesus turns and looks at you with Love.
1 CommentWe have a purpose and then it gets derailed. NOW WHAT? Who can you trust to know what is the best for you? I know God has a purpose. Slow down, and spend quiet time with Him to find out this special calling for you.
Comments closedTo write your story was the topic of my last post., but after you read the post and think about each day, who do you feel has the pen when you wake up? Is there a fantastic sense of awe to address the day in wonder and anticipation or has the script been written out in such a way that it is now dreary and uninspired.
Comments closedAnger rises within me when mistakes glare, mocking me with the loser card. (If you have problems dealing with that voice, read my post: Losing does not make you a loser.) As we create each day, we will come against huge barriers questioning our capability to accomplish the calling God has laid upon our hearts. This is part of writing our story. Story deals not only with technique and craft, but our very life. A true artist allows the reality of their life to be reflected in and through their art. When you create, does it reflect how you live?
1 CommentToday’s world does not encourage the artist to slow down, be present. Was that the accepted life of the followers of Jesus? That is what we were created for.
